The Eleusinian Mysteries were initiation rites for the cult of the goddesses Demeter and Persephone, which were celebrated annually in the city of Eleusis, in ancient Greece.

And they remember Demeter’s search for her daughter Persephone, when she had been kidnapped by Hades and taken to the underworld…

This sacred road included shrines, temples and holy places, as well as many tombs and monuments…
