The Magic Castle of Agrilos, Greece

We visited the magical castle of Agrilos, a very strange mixture of medieval castle with myths of ancient Greece.

And we reviewed the history of its creator, Harry Fournarakis.

Furthermore, we heard from Harry himself, the reason for its creation.

Inside the crater of an active volcano – Nisyros, Greece

We visited the Stefanos crater, in the caldera of the volcano of the island of Nisyros.

The Stefanos crater has an elliptical shape with 185m at its narrowest point and 250m at its widest.
Its walls are 30 meters high and it is estimated to be between 3000 and 4000 years old.
The entire area has a deep sulfur odor.

The last eruptions of the volcano were between 1881-87 and were of the phreatic type.
A phreatic eruption is one that occurs when the magma of a volcano, whose temperature is extreme (600 Cº-1170 Cº), comes into contact with the ground or a surface that contains water, which evaporates rapidly causing an explosion of vapor, water, ash, stones, etc.

The underwater ruins of a Christian church or a Roman building in Greece

We visited underwater ruins in the Peloponnese, near Porto Hydra, Venice of Greece.

We thought they were the ruins of an early Christian basilica.

The ruins are easily accessible and no diving equipment is needed.

Unfortunately we couldn’t find any information about them, nor Spanish, English or Greek.

The Ruins of New Plevron – Epic Greek Fortress

New Plevron is an impressive but rather unknown archaeological site in Greece.

It is a Hellenistic walled city, very well preserved, from 234 AC, built on a plateau at 200m altitude with spectacular views.

We visited its walls, its theater, its cisterns, its agora and a little of its history.

The Cave of the Seal – The Secret Beach, without sun, near Athens, Greece

The Cave of the Seal is one of the purest and most pristine places in Corinth and has remained unknown for years due to its difficulty of access.

You can get there by boat or by a dirt road and descend 100 meters.

The cave has one hidden sandy beach, to which you can only access by walking in the water.

What makes this place special, besides the 20-meter arch is that the beach inside the cave never has direct sunlight.
