The other underwater ruins of Old Epidaurus

The “sunken city” of Old Epidaurus/Palea Epidavros (in Greek) is probably the most popular and known of the underwater ruins of Greece.

However, and unknown to the general public, there are other ruins in the vicinity beyond the famous “Roman villa” and the buildings that surround it, and in this video we will explore those ruins.

The “sunken city” of Old Epidaurus, Greece

The “sunken city” of Old Epidaurus (Palea Epidavros) is composed of a set of buildings, between 1-2 meters of depth under the sea, about 20 meters from the coast, in a Old Epidaurus beach in the east of Peloponnese, in Greece.

The jewel of the sunken city is the Roman mansion, where there are remains of wine amphorae.

The place is free of charge and open 24 hours a day.

The underwater ruins of a Christian church or a Roman building in Greece

We visited underwater ruins in the Peloponnese, near Porto Hydra, Venice of Greece.

We thought they were the ruins of an early Christian basilica.

The ruins are easily accessible and no diving equipment is needed.

Unfortunately we couldn’t find any information about them, nor Spanish, English or Greek.
